2018 ACHPPI Travel Award

ACHPPI will sponsor Chinese helping professionals and psychologists to travel to ACHPPI 2nd Summit Meeting. We are offering three travel awards ($300 each) to support one graduate student, one practitioner, and one faculty member.

Deadline: April 6, 2018

Eligibility

  • Graduate student applicants must be enrolled full time and in good standing in a graduate program in psychology and closely related field at a regionally accredited university or college around the world.

  • Practitioner applicants must be licensed counselors (e.g. mental health, school, career, etc.), social workers, marital family therapist, or psychologists who have had a good record of practice.

  • Faculty applicants must be a full-time faculty in psychology or closely related field at a regionally accredited university or college around the world.

  • Applicants must be members of ACHPPI. Applicants who are not members must apply for membership when submitting materials for the travel award. Visit www.achppi.org/membership to join.

  • Research papers or posters must have been accepted by an APA division for presentation. Multiple author submissions are acceptable, but the applicant must be the designated presenter of the research. If there are multiple authors, only the first author may apply for these funds. If the applicant has been accepted to present more than one paper or poster, the applicant must choose only one paper/poster presentation to use when applying for this award. Applicants who are designated presenters in a division-sponsored symposium are also eligible to apply for this award.

Application Instruction

  1. ACHPPI Research Committee will examine all applications for eligibility.

  2. Applicants must use the official application form (PDF, 675KB). The only means of application is by email. The application form must be typed or neatly printed, and submitted with the following materials:
    a. Award application form with signature of Department Chair or an advisor or administrator of similar status;
    b. Evidence of ACHPPI membership;
    c. Copy of notification of APA Convention paper or poster acceptance from sponsoring APA Division;
    d. 1-pg. cover letter describing research interests and experience, and career plans;
    e. 1-pg. summary (double space) of research to be presented;
    f. 2-pg. abbreviated Curriculum Vitae;
    g. A copy of license or license number (for practitioners only).

  3. Applicants must submit a single PDF of the above materials in the order to Hong Ni at hongni@csufresno.edu. Please do not submit separate PDF for each document.

  4. Decisions will be based on the quality of the submitted information.

  5. Award recipients will be announced and awarded at the 2nd ACHPPI Summit Meeting during 2018 APA Convention.

  6. By the end of September following convention, each award recipient must submit a copy of the final presentation.
